Purpose-built as a permanent residence, the home showcases the efficiency and precision of modular construction, with each element crafted in a controlled environment before being transported and installed on site. The result is a well-appointed, climate-responsive dwelling that delivers comfort, durability, and reliable off-grid performance in a remote location. This primary off-grid dwelling in Lachlan has been designed and constructed as a refined, self-sufficient living solution tailored for Tasmania’s rural landscape.
Positioned to complement its natural surrounds, the 12m dwelling features a contemporary linear profile finished with Weathertex Weathergroove external cladding chosen for its durability, clean aesthetic, and suitability for Tasmanian conditions. The roof is engineered with Colorbond Custom Orb sheeting in “Night Sky,” paired with high-performance insulation to support year-round thermal stability. Large aluminium-framed sliding doors anchor the northern façade, providing seamless access to the timber deck and inviting natural light throughout the interior. Each material and finish has been selected to offer long-term resilience with minimal maintenance, aligning with the requirements of an off-grid rural home.

Internally, the dwelling offers a practical open-plan layout with an efficient kitchen zone, streamlined bathroom arrangement, and a flexible living area oriented to the property’s outlook. The structure has been engineered to support complete off-grid functionality, including solar generation, battery storage, independent water supply, and on-site waste management systems
